Spend Intelligence - Always on

Every transaction classified. Every price spike caught.

OmniPATH watches every line you spend and tells you what changed - a supplier nudging prices up, a duplicate about to be paid, a budget slipping. It's transparent, explainable intelligence: pattern-matching with a confidence score and the data behind it, computed live, never a stale monthly export.

Intelligence that finds you.

Most multi-site operators keep their analytics in spreadsheets - exported monthly, pivoted by hand, out of date by the time the meeting starts. This is the opposite of that.

Price-spike detection

When a supplier nudges prices up, you'll know.

OmniPATH compares every line against that supplier's own price history and flags increases beyond your threshold - the gradual cooking-oil rise you'd never catch reading invoices one at a time.

  • Unit price compared against the supplier's own trailing average
  • Threshold plus confidence scoring - a flagged rise, not a guess
  • Surfaced to LEDGE and as an alert the moment the invoice posts
  • Works line by line, across every supplier, in the background

Seven categories of spend intelligence

Beyond price spikes. Seven more ways to see your spend.

Pattern-matching scans your full transaction history and surfaces what would otherwise stay buried in the line-by-line detail - each signal scored, each one explained.

01

Recurring & subscription

Frequency, amount stability and date cadence classify spend into subscription, recurring and one-off - so renewals and creeping software costs stop hiding in the detail.

02

Seasonal vs one-off

Tells a genuine seasonal pattern apart from a true one-off, so a December spike isn't mistaken for a problem and a real anomaly doesn't get waved through.

03

Duplicate detection

Flags duplicate invoices and payments before they clear - matched on supplier, number, amount and date, not just an exact reference.

04

Budget variance

Spend against budget by site, category and dimension, surfaced as it happens rather than discovered at month-end.

05

New-pattern alerts

A new supplier, an unfamiliar amount or an out-of-cadence charge is surfaced as a new-pattern alert with a confidence score.

06

Supplier concentration

Shows how exposed you are to any one supplier - top payables and creditor concentration - so a single dependency can't blindside you.

07

Cash-outflow forecast

Projects outflow from 7 to 365 days from your real payment history, with a payment-run preview for the next BACS run.

How it actually works

Smart, but not a black box.

Four things that make this intelligence you can trust: it's live, it's explainable, it spans your whole spend and you can ask it anything in plain English.

01

Computed live, never a stale export

Every figure runs against your live database on request - no nightly batch, no pre-aggregated tables, no materialised views. The number you see is the number right now, not last night's snapshot.

  • Request-time computation against live data
  • No overnight batch and no stale tables
  • Tiered caching keeps it fast without losing currency
02

Explainable, with a confidence score

We're deliberately straight about this: it's transparent, algorithmic pattern-matching with confidence scoring, not an opaque black box. Detection looks at frequency, amount stability and cadence - and you can always see the data behind a flag.

  • Pattern-matching you can actually inspect
  • Every signal carries a confidence score
  • The supporting data sits behind every flag
03

108 analytics endpoints, one shape

Procurement, finance, cash flow, budgets, suppliers and accounting each have a deep-dive - all filterable by site, area, supplier, category and date range, and all returning the same time-series shape your charts already speak.

  • 108 endpoints across ten spend domains
  • Filter by site, supplier, category and date
  • One consistent time-series shape throughout
04

Ask it in plain English

LEDGE sits across every endpoint - it picks the right module, applies the filters and explains the answer with the data behind it. Cross-module questions like 'compare suppliers by performance and cash exposure' are a single call, not a spreadsheet project.

  • LEDGE spans every analytics endpoint
  • Cross-module questions answered in one call
  • Plain-English answers with the data attached

05

Tiered caching

Four-hour, one-hour and 30-minute caches keep heavy report calls fast without hammering your ledger.

06

LEDGE insight injection

Alerts surface directly inside LEDGE, so the intelligence finds you rather than waiting in a report.

LEDGE x Spend Intelligence

Ask your spend anything.

Because LEDGE - your AI financial intelligence officer - sits across all 108 endpoints, it answers questions that would normally mean exporting several reports and pivoting in Excel.

Pricing question
Which suppliers have raised prices more than 10% versus six months ago?
Recurring question
List every recurring or subscription charge and flag anything that increased this quarter.
Duplicate question
Show suspected duplicate invoices this month that haven't been paid yet.
Concentration question
Which suppliers are we most exposed to, and what share of food spend is each?
Budget question
Where are we over budget this month, by site and category?
Forecast question
Based on three months of outflow, what's our projected cash position at month-end?
The OmniPATH resolution

Your analytics shouldn't live in a spreadsheet.

Monthly exports are stale before the meeting starts. OmniPATH computes spend intelligence on the live data and brings the signal to you - in a chart, in LEDGE, or as an alert.

Without OmniPATH

  • Spreadsheet exports - analytics pivoted by hand and emailed round once a month
  • Always out of date - stale by the time the meeting actually starts
  • Price creep unseen - supplier rises buried line by line across hundreds of invoices
  • Duplicates slip through - caught after they're paid, if they're caught at all
  • Surprises at month-end - budget variance discovered far too late to act on

With OmniPATH

  • Live intelligence - computed on request, always current
  • One source of truth - the same numbers your charts already speak
  • Price spikes flagged - caught the moment the invoice posts
  • Duplicates caught early - flagged before they ever clear the bank
  • Forecast ahead - 7-to-365-day outflow visibility, not hindsight
One hub, every signal

Spend intelligence reads the same data that flows through capture, matching and your ledger - so the signals reflect committed and posted spend across every site, not a sampled extract.

FAQs

Spend intelligence - answered honestly

What does 'spend intelligence' actually detect?
Supplier price spikes against each supplier's own history, plus seven categories of signal: recurring and subscription spend, seasonal versus one-off patterns, duplicate invoices and payments, budget variance by dimension, new-pattern and anomaly alerts, supplier concentration risk and cash-outflow forecasting. Each signal carries a confidence score and the underlying data.
Is the 'AI' actually machine learning?
We're deliberately straight about this: it's transparent, algorithmic pattern-matching with confidence scoring, not an opaque trained model. The logic looks at frequency regularity, amount stability and date cadence to classify transactions and flag price drift. The output is genuinely useful - it surfaces things a line-by-line review would miss - but it's explainable, and you can always see the data behind a flag.
How current are the numbers?
Live. Every analytics figure is computed on request against your live transactional database - there are no pre-aggregated tables and no nightly batch. A tiered cache (around four hours for heavy reports, an hour for invoices and thirty minutes for cash) keeps things fast without hammering your ledger, but you're always looking at current data.
How does price-spike detection work?
For every invoice line, OmniPATH compares the unit price against that supplier's trailing average and flags increases beyond your threshold, with a confidence score. It catches the gradual rises - a few percent on cooking oil across hundreds of invoices - that no one spots reading invoices one at a time.
How much of our data can it analyse?
There are 108 analytics endpoints spanning procurement, finance, cash flow, budgets, suppliers, categories, products, processing, transactions and accounting - all filterable by site, area, supplier, category and date range. LEDGE can query across modules in a single question, so 'compare suppliers by performance and cash exposure' is one call rather than a spreadsheet project.
Do we have to go looking for the insights?
No - they come to you. New-pattern alerts, price spikes and duplicates are injected directly into LEDGE, so the intelligence surfaces in the conversation rather than waiting in a report you have to remember to open.
